H1N1 Virus

Well, my 19 year old college student was diagnosed with Swine Flu 2 weeks ago. Symptoms were, high fever for 5 days, horrible cough, lethargic, and achy. He returned to school and work after 12 days. He still has the cough, but is much better. It was a scary experience, but now I am glad he got it over with and will be immuned to it in the future.

Yankees!

I am watching my favorite baseball team, hopefully win the World Series tonight. My sister and brother-in-law are at the game!!!

Graves Disease

Hi again,

Just thought I would start a blog on Graves Disease. It is an autoimmune disorder where the thyroid is attacked. Sometimes eyes, and skin also can be affected.

I was diagnosed two and a half years ago. Last fall I had Radioactive Iodine treatment, which eventually kills off your thyroid.

With Graves you are hyperthyroid, when you have treatment you become hypothyroid. Hypothyroid, I am learning has many symptoms you have to deal with. Weight gain, tiredness, I have become anemic and also have low Vitamin D.

I just wanted to put a quick note on my blog. If anyone also has Graves, I would love to chat and compare notes!!

Please contact me!!!
